The start of a new summer
The days are getting longer, temperatures are finally rising. Evenings are milder, and here and there the delicious scent of sausages and grilled meats emanates. The start of summer is finally here in Luxembourg, and we’re all delighted.
Summer and outdoor activities
The whole family and the neighborhood will have fun and challenge each other with humor in this original street chalk drawing contest! Young and old alike will have the opportunity to showcase their creative talents. Neighbors from adjacent streets will even join in the fun. Temperatures remain mild even after sunset. Some of the teens have brought out their water guns and are on a masterful chase until they disappear into the darkness. The adults take advantage of the occasion to organize an aperitif, in moderation, while keeping an eye on the little ones. A real moment of sharing that feels good at the end of winter and a spring that was rather capricious.
A few blocks away, we witnessed a boule game battle. It’s hot! Concentration is the order of the day, and silence is the watchword until the next point is scored. The new generation defends itself well against the experience of the “old hands”: the scores are close. A gentle breeze grazes the faces, a sweet reward after the day’s high temperatures. All that’s missing is the song of the crickets and the pastis to make us feel like we’re in the southern Mediterranean!
As we stroll along at the end of the day, we come across a group of rollerbladers, whom we say hello to. Runners and cyclists follow: the outdoor sports season is well and truly underway. Walkers, ice cream in hand, also enjoy the pleasant weather, chatting away. The municipal pools are ready to welcome you for the season. It’s a great way to cool off in a heatwave, and a great way to make friends if you’ve got kids of your own!
Prepare your summer wardrobe
It’s time to get dressed up for summer. A pretty, lightweight dress for Madame? With a pair of fabulous sandals, a sublime hat or scarf, this refined yet casual look is sure to delight!
