100% Lëtzebuerg – eng Hymn un de Schokela

For 160 years, chocolate has been the number one priority for the Nickels family. The family business, better known as Namur, has granted Letzshop a little insight into the production of the ever-chocolate.

Please introduce yourself briefly

Hello, my name is Anne Nickels. My family has been running the Namur family business for 160 years, and I have been working here myself for 20 years. Today I will show you how our artisanal chocolate and pralines are made.

Which praline do you like best?

My favourite praline is the ‘Truffe parisienne’. This is a dark ganache covered in powder chocolate, which I just love.

And on to the production…

For the ‘Orangettes’, the oranges are peeled, and the peel is then candied and dipped in chocolate. This leaves us with lots of peeled oranges, which we can press and offer as fresh orange juice. Furthermore, we have already started the chocolate production for Easter. For our family – and thus also for our business – chocolate has always been of the utmost importance. Whether it’s figurines made of chocolate, chocolate bars or pralines – you simply can’t do without chocolate!

With Letzshop, you added an e-commerce to your physical shops

Letzshop is a very useful national platform that we have been part of for more than three years. Since the pandemic, online trade has really taken off and so we can offer a wide range of items on Letzshop and sell and deliver all over Luxembourg and even abroad.
