From fashion to decoration
Most people associate the name Calliste with fashion. But the concept store in Wemperhardt also offers decoration, accessories and lifestyle items of all kinds. Julie Schammel gave us a tour of the shop and showed us the latest trends, which are of course also available on Letzshop.
Please present yourself
My name is Julie Schammel and I am responsible for marketing and the online shop of the concept shop Calliste Fashion & Living in Wemperhardt. Calliste is a Luxembourgish family business that was founded back in 1985. In addition to the latest collections for men and women, you will also find a large selection of decorative items and children’s clothing in our concept stores (Wemperhardt and Mersch).
Please explain the concept of the shop
The concept store Calliste Fashion & Living in Wemperhardt in the Massen Shopping Centre combines the latest trends in fashion and accessories for women, men and children with stylish decorative and gift items. The aim is not only to fill the wardrobe with the latest looks, but also to advise customers on furnishing their four walls. From small candle holders to cosy home textiles and modern ceiling lamps – on 2000 m2 you will find many different products to make your heart beat faster.
What do you look for when choosing your brands?
All brands and articles are selected by Calliste itself. Whether in the manufacturer’s showroom or in the catalogue, the top priority is that the selection is made with care and that the customer is the focus. We try to complement the already well-known brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Street One or Räder with smaller brands that are less well-known in Luxembourg. For example, we carry a number of Scandinavian brands in our decoration department, such as Broste Copenhagen, Bloomingville or Elvang. In addition, we are increasingly trying to find brands that correspond to the current zeitgeist. Fashion labels such as Ecoalf and Armedangels or decoration brands like Elvang and Cookut have committed themselves to sustainability and try to use mainly renewable or recycled materials.

Where is the trend going in terms of decoration?
Natural colours and materials continue to dominate in autumn/winter 2023. Colours like brown, orange or dark green and materials like wood, rattan and stone dominate the living rooms. The Scandinavian style will also remain. However, the light oak wood is replaced by darker types of wood. The interieur thus remains clean but cosy.
Your personal favourite
One of my favourites for autumn are the blankets from Danish brand Elvang. Their cosy wool and subtle colours and patterns make them perfect for any sofa. A plus point of the brand is that it is certified by the World Fairtrade Organization and uses recycled wool and organic cotton in addition to virgin alpaca wool. So you can cozy up on the couch with a clear conscience.
Why Letzshop?
Calliste has been part of the Letzshop family from the very beginning. We wanted to support the idea of uniting all Luxembourg retailers on one platform. Even though we have our own online shop, we see Letzshop as an extended sales channel where we can reach new customers who were not yet familiar with our shops. We thus see the platform not only as a pure marketplace, but also as a shop window for the whole of Luxembourg.
