My name is Mike Welter and I am the sales manager of Bernard-Massard, the most important family-run producer of sparkling wines in Luxembourg. Together with our two partner wineries, the Clos des Rochers and the Château de Schengen, Bernard-Massard is one of the best white wine producers of the Luxembourg Moselle.
Caves Bernard-Massard are a family business in the 5th generation.
Yes, exactly. In 1921, Jean Bernard founded the Bernard-Massard company, named after him and his wife Anne Massard. After working as a cellar master in Champagne, Jean returned to Luxembourg with the know-how he had acquired in the prestigious houses of Reims and Epernay for professional and private reasons. He created the new company on the banks of the Moselle with the aim of producing sparkling wines according to the Champagne method (now called the ‘traditional method’). Bernard-Massard still uses this method today.

We attach great importance to respecting tradition while being open to social, environmental and qualitative advances. Today, with a total production of nearly 3,500,000 bottles, the company is Luxembourg’s most important family-run producer of still and sparkling wines. And the reputation of the house of Bernard-Massard goes far beyond the borders of our small country. As passionate ambassadors of Luxembourg abroad, we export our wines to more than 20 countries. Since the company was founded, we have had a branch in Belgium and are also present on numerous other markets.
