Coupons: More purchase incentives, more gift ideas

Coupons

Coupons are much more than simple discount codes. When used strategically, they can help you encourage customers to make a purchase, highlight specific products, reward loyal customers, or even serve as creative gift ideas.

On Letzshop, merchants can create, manage and distribute their own coupons. Whether it is a percentage discount, a fixed amount, a limited-time promotion or a personalised code, coupons offer many ways to implement targeted sales campaigns.

Another particularly interesting option is to use coupons to create your own gift cards or promotional cards. A simple code can become a personalised offer that your customers can share or give as a gift. The gift card amount can then be redeemed exclusively in your Letzshop store.

Tailor coupons to your objectives

Before creating a coupon, you should determine what you want to achieve with it. Do you want to attract new customers, boost sales of selected products or reward your loyal customers? The clearer your objective is, the easier it will be to choose the right discount, conditions and validity period.

Letzshop offers several options. You can provide a percentage discount, such as 10%, or a fixed discount amount, such as €5. The coupon can apply to products, services or delivery costs. Its validity can also be limited to specific products or categories.

The right coupon for every campaign

Coupons can be used for many different occasions. Here are a few examples:

  • Welcome discount: Attract new customers by offering a discount on their first order.
  • Seasonal promotion: Create a coupon for Christmas, Easter, the back-to-school season or the summer sales.
  • Product promotion: Promote a specific product or a selected product category.
  • Loyalty reward: Reward returning customers with an exclusive discount.
  • Minimum order value: Encourage customers to increase their basket value by making the coupon valid only above a certain order amount.
  • Delivery discount: Cover or reduce delivery costs as part of a limited-time promotion.
  • Gift or promotional card: Create a personalised code that the recipient can redeem exclusively in your store.

Combine conditions strategically

To tailor a promotion to your offer and budget, you can define different conditions. For example, a coupon may only be valid above a certain order value, during a specified period or for selected customers. It can also be limited to first-time orders.

Several conditions can be combined. For example, you can create a coupon that is valid only for new customers, with a minimum order value of €50 and during a specified promotional period. This allows you to tailor your sales campaign precisely to your target audience.

Custom or automatically generated codes

When creating a coupon, you can choose an easy-to-understand promotional code such as SUMMER10, WELCOME or THANKYOU5. These codes are particularly easy to include in a newsletter, share on social media or display on a flyer.

Alternatively, you can automatically generate multiple random codes. If desired, each code can be limited to a single use. This option is particularly suitable for personalised promotions, competitions or individual gift cards.

Creating a coupon: How it works

You can find the coupon management section in your Letzshop shop administration under “Discounts / Coupons”. First, enter a unique name and an optional description. Then specify how often the coupon can be used or the maximum total amount for which it may be redeemed.

Next, select the desired discount and specify whether it applies to products, services or delivery. Under “Valid for”, you can also limit the campaign to a specific period, selected users, products or categories. Finally, create the desired coupon codes and save the campaign.

How to make your coupon campaign successful

An attractive discount alone is not always enough. Make sure that the conditions are easy for your customers to understand. Clearly communicate:

  • the discount amount;
  • the validity period;
  • any minimum order value;
  • the products or categories included;
  • and whether the code can only be used once.

You should also choose a short and easy-to-read coupon code. The easier the code is to type and remember, the easier it will be to share and use when making a purchase.

Promote your coupons effectively

To ensure that customers learn about your promotion, coupons should be promoted through appropriate communication channels. You can share them, for example:

  • in your newsletter;
  • on social media*, such as in an Instagram or Facebook post or a TikTok video;
  • on flyers and promotional cards;
  • in your physical store;
  • or directly with selected customers.

In addition to the code, remember to include the most important redemption conditions. Clear communication helps prevent misunderstandings and increases the likelihood that the coupon will actually be used.

*When sharing the code on social media, remember to tag @letzshoplux on Instagram, @letzshoplux on Facebook and/or @letzshoplux on TikTok so that we can share your content too.

Conclusion: Small codes with many possibilities

Coupons are a versatile marketing tool that you can flexibly adapt to your sales objectives. Whether you want to attract new customers, boost seasonal sales, reward loyal customers or create personalised gifts, the right conditions and clear communication can generate additional purchase incentives and draw attention to your product range.
