Please introduce yourself
My name is Anne Schweitzer. Maison Lucien Schweitzer is a Luxembourg family business that has been around for over 40 years. We embellish home interiors and work with clients from the first sketch to the completion of the project. Our team consists of decorators, interior designers, craftsmen and interior design specialists. We accompany our clients and advise them on paint, wallpaper, curtains and blinds, home linen, flooring, furniture sets, furniture, lighting and carpets through to the decorative object. In our design office, we also like to dedicate ourselves to overall projects, where we design concepts, draw plans, elaborate and manage the projects.
You are a real Luxembourg family business…
Yes, the painting business was founded by our father in 1980. Our mother then also helped in the business and developed and managed the shops and the studios. Together they have achieved and expanded a lot. In 2008, our sister founded the design office and for the last ten years, all five of us have been working together on the projects, the building sites and in the shop.
What do you look for when choosing your brands?
The first thing we look at is quality. Of course, the starting point is always the design and how the brand fits into our concept and our range. But if the product is not of good quality, we don’t want to offer it to our customers. It is also important that the products are produced nearby. For example, we offer beds and mattresses that are produced in Belgium. Many of our producers have also moved their production to Europe, which is an important point for us.

The current trends?
There is a lot of talk about fast fashion, but fast decoration is also a topic. Choosing good design and quality production costs more, but you can enjoy your furnishings for a long time. You don’t have to decorate the whole house at once, but you can treat yourself to your favourite objects piece by piece, which is more fun in the long run. There are so many beautiful things, from cushions to carpets, floor lamps, vases or decorative objects etc. that are produced sustainably, in beautiful designs that will not go out of fashion tomorrow. We even offer designs from the 20s, 30s or 50s. If an object is well thought out and well made, it stays in fashion!
Your favourite item?
The Hay shopping bag. You can take this bag to the beach, to the shops, keep it in the car, store toys in it or put newspapers and plaids in it in the living room… It’s modern and has many functions and therefore a long life. And you can even be fashionable in the supermarket with this bag!
Why Letzshop?
Because online shops are part of today’s world, especially or at least since Covid. Letzshop also serves as a showcase for us. It was also important for us to take part in an innovative Luxembourg project. I think it’s great that there is a Luxembourg platform with only Luxembourg vendors, so you can also discover the shops in the country, even if you don’t have time to drive everywhere.
