Léiwe Kleeschen, gudde Kleeschen…

Every year on 6 December, we celebrate the tradition of St Nicholas. And what are the essential ingredients for this tradition? Well, first of all you need the nice old man with the white beard, then lots of presents, chocolates of course and to top it all off: well-behaved, smiling children. If you’ve got everything but presents, visit Letzshop.lu to find everything you need for 6 December.

To honour the tradition of Saint Nicholas, of course, you have to start with chocolate. What would Saint Nicholas be without a little chocolate Saint Nicholas? For those who don’t like chocolate, why not opt for pralines, marzipan or simply a chocolate bar? As a gift or to enjoy yourself…

Then you have to choose the right gift for your child, which will of course be brought to him by Saint Nicholas! Does your little one love picture books, or can your child already read on his own? A book is a nice educational gift and always a good idea. Alternatively, opt for a more traditional-style gift such as a doll, a cuddly toy, a toy car, a puzzle, a game or even a video game.

Alternatively, why not give some music, with a CD, an audio book or even the child’s first musical instrument for a musical awakening. This way, the gift is not only educational, but will also appeal 100% to little music lovers.

If your child likes to draw or do arts and crafts, why not buy them a creative hobby kit to spend time together while creating something. These creations can then be given to grandparents for Christmas.

Traditionally, the gift for St Nicholas is a toy, but some parents prefer to buy more ‘useful’ gifts such as pyjamas, clothes or even a hat and scarf for the winter. And why not a set of bed linen in the child’s favourite colours?

It’s up to you to choose, and Saint Nicholas to bring it on 6 December!
